Matariki Celebration T2 2022

Last week Wednesday our school held a Matariki celebration day. We usually do this every year. Fallen, Chevelle, and I filmed and edited this movie. We filmed Team 3’s Matariki Celebration. They did cooking, art, and ki o rahi. I had fun filming and seeing what Team 3 got up to. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking – Minced with Rice and Veggies

Last week at food tech we made minced with rice and veggies.

We sliced and diced our veggies (onions, carrots, and cellary). We put our minced in the pan and cooked it. After some time we added our chopped veggies to the pan. We also boiled some rice and drained the water out (before that we made sure the rice was soft). We washed dishes and cleaned our kitchen. Finally we dished our plates. And ate our Minced with Rice and Veggies. I worked with Aye, again.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Cybersmart – What would you eat, Pig or Horse?

Today for cybersmart we were learning about google forms. Each of us chose a question for everyone to answer. We put our links in the spreadsheet form. My question was What would you eat, Pig or Horse? I had quite a lot of fun doing this. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Year 8 Leadership Camp – Highlights

During week 3 the year eights had their leadership camp. This camp was supposed to be fun and help us with our leadership skills, it really was. Our camp was at Carey Park Camp and I was in Waitakere. I have many highlights and things I wanna share but I will share just a few. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. (There were certain activities that we couldn’t do because of the rain but we still had a blast).

Highlight 1/Activities – There were so many activities that would put me out of my comfort zone or they would’ve been so fun! Two of my favourite activities were flying fox, crate stacking, (much more but those two). I screamed so loud when I went on the flying fox because it was so high and it was insanely fun. The crate stacking kind of put me out of my comfort zone because I stood on unsteady crates but it was still super duper fun.

Highlight 2/Area – The area was amazing and beautiful! There would be signs like a green sign, yellow sign, and red sign (you probably get what that means).  There was a park, trampolines, fun play areas, a lake/river, etc. The cabins were also cool. As well as our meeting area, the dining hall and the court.

Highlight 3/ Food – We loved the food! I promise you that we were well fed and the food was delicious. I loved dessert and lunch. Thank you to the chefs and teachers for helping out with serving our food.

A HUGE THANK YOU to our helpers, parents, teacher, chefs and host/people at the camp for this amazing camp we had. It was super fun and I did not regret not going because I had a blast. I had a great time with my friends, watching others step up and lead, and the awesome activities. Thank you!

Term 2 Immersion Assembly

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! Today is the first day of term 2! Yay! This morning we had a immersion assembly with the whole school. Each team shared an item based on what they are learning for this term. This term’s theme/koreo is “We Know The Way”.

Team One Item – Bees, Team One’s item was based around bees. There were two bee keepers who were searching for bees. There was this one big bumblebee that they chase and followed. The bee knew its way, it went right and left, up and down, over and under.

Team Two Item – Pirates, Team Two’s item was based around pirates. I teacher was a speaker, one was Jolly Roger and the other two were his pirate friends. Jolly Roger pulled out her map and read/looked through it. She got some audience members to help her find her way. They would North/Never, East/Eat, South/Soggy, West/Weet-Bix. Other kids used google and google maps. I guess thats just they way now these days. Everyone if now using technology for mostly everything. Usually when people travel they would use google maps or GPS or the navigation system on cars. Some use maps and paper or just their knowledge. Sometimes they just know where to go. I usually use google, google earth and google maps.

Team Three Item – Scratch+Coding, Team three’s item was based on a quiz show about Scratch. Three students and Three teachers came up to participate in the quiz show. Questions include what is scratch?, what is coding?, what do you do to fix and code mistake?, and etc. The PES students won the quiz.

Team Four Item – QR Codes & Scratch, Team four’s movie was about navigating and QR codes. The teacher in the movie navigated around the school as a new student. She found and looked for QR codes. The QR codes left some messages and helped her find her way. She eventually did and thought this school was just right.

Team Five Item – Sphero, Team fives’s item was about coding. One teacher read and the other two were students and the other two where robots. One student was precised and the other was rebellious. They helped each other and learnt how the code their robots. I think it was quite funny when the two students (who were teachers) dumped water on the robots head.

Camp Tuhikaramea! Youth Ward Camp

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! 2 weeks ago on Friday I went on a camp to Hamilton, Camp Tuhikaramea. This was a youth ward camp. I went with my family, ward youth, and some ward members. My family were the first to get there so we got our cabin – the cabin was surprisingly big! The point of this camp was for us to be strength both physically and spiritually. Also to help us in our confidence.

Here are some of my highlights – 1: My first highlight was the pacific museum/temple. I really enjoyed visiting the temple and museum. We looked through the museum and saw a lot of cool things. I saw this painting with Jesus Christ in the islands, playing with the children. I also saw my grandpa and great uncle in one of the portraits. They were missionary volunteers and construction workers building temples and churches. We also went to the temple. I was so happy, joyful, and calm when I finally saw the temple (again) in person. It was a beautiful view and experience.

Highlight 2: My cabin was awesome! I was with Lose, Emeline, Bubba, Roseline, Ana, and Temalisi. There were 3 rooms, 2 bunks in 1 room, 2 bunks in the other room, and 2 single beds in the middle room. Lose, Emeline, Temaisi, and we were in on room which the 2 bunks. On our first night we shared creepy stories that really scared me (but not to scared). We ate late night snacks and talked. We had to be in our cabins by 10pm but we could still talk and have fun! The other cabin with the other girls have their own disco and it was quite loud (haha!).

Highlight 3: I would never forget the slide. We first had our activities/relays. We then walked over to the slide. I thought this slide was the ones we have a school but this slide was far from the ones we have at school. It was so big and long. I had to fun down hill to see the end of the hill. I was so excited and nervous. They got the hose and soap ready. I went down so fast and my mum was yelling “TURN TO YOUR SIDE!” which makes you go slower. When I reached the end I was trying to stand up but I fell over and then someone came sliding down super fast and hit me. I got hit like 3 times. My little sister and my friends Melemanu and Emeline went flying out of the slide (HAHA!). My 2 other brothers and mum went too. Sometimes I went with all my friends at once. This slide was scary, fun, and I also got lots of bruises but I think it was worth it.

Highlight 4: My first ever bonfire. I brought my big blanket and shared it with Lisi. To be honest the fire was already making me feel warm, even without my blanket. We all went around in a circle with the boys, girls, and parents/leaders. We shared what we have enjoyed so far from camp. After that we toasted our marshmallows in the fire and ate them with biscuits.

Highlight: Team Blues Clues in the house! I was in Team Blue. My leader was Nane and Kefi. We made our banner which turned out really cool and beautiful. After that we started making our chants. It was so fun and it was a good way to make better bonds with new people.

Highlight 5: I was well fed everyday. Thank you to the chefs for making our food! We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks! Sometimes I thought that was the end of our eating time but no, there was more food. My favourite food was that bacon and eggs, pizza, and Doritos with sour cream. There were heaps of snacks in my family’s cabin so I would always so in there to take some food.

Highlight 6: I enjoyed the free time. Whenever we finished eating our meals or an activity we would just go back to our cabins and do whatever we want (but be wise). We had some neighbours and the other side on the camp (because of camp was Camp Nephi). On our first night we stayed in our cabins but the 2nd night was fantastic! We finished our bonfire and returned to our cabins. Everyone was playing Spotlight and Man Hunt. Some of the girls dances and played loud catchy music. I talked with Lisi and Winnie. This free time actually felt like fun free time.

Highlight 7: Pyjamas Disco Night. On our first day we had a disco party and the theme was Pyjamas. We did general dancing. All the girls danced on one side or the pavilion and the boys danced on the other side. Some people were dancing and some people were frozen. Since we needed to boost our confidence and start dancing we had to stand in a huge circle with the boys and girls. This made us move and dance a little bit more. Soon we did a dance which is called the March. This was so fun to do!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. (The photos are quite blurry, had a problem with uploading).

Testimony Camp Tuhikaramea (Experience)

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! Last week Sunday I got given an opportunity to share my testimony and camp experience at my church ward sacrament meeting. Here is my testimony.

Good Afternoon my dear brothers and sisters! I’m so grateful for this opportunity to share my testimony and my camp experience with you all. Before I do, I’d like to thank heavenly father for blessing us with this beautiful sabbath day.

I’m so happy that I went to camp and do not regret it. Camp has strengthened me both physically and spiritually. I enjoyed making better bonds with the friends I already had. I met brothers and sisters and made new bonds with them.

I also enjoyed visiting the temple. In the temple you can baptise the dead, get sealed, and do missionary work. Temple work can help us return back to heavenly father. I felt so calm and joyful when I saw the temple. It was a beautiful experience and a beautiful view of the temple.

I’m so grateful and enjoyed seeing my grandpa and great uncle in one of the portraits in the church museum. They were missionary volunteers and construction workers building the house of the lord and churches. It was good seeing my grandpa doing the lord’s work and doing the right thing, and also seeing my dad doing the right thing too.

I’m so grateful that I grew up in this church and learnt about Christ’s resurrection. I’d like to thank Jesus Christ for his good example and because of him we can all repent and be with our father again.

I’d like to bare my testimony that this church is the true church,I believe that the scriptures are true, I believe that the temple work can help us return back to our heavenly father, I believe that Russell.M.Nelson is a true prophet of god, I believe that Jesus Christ lives, I believe that camp has really helped me physically, spiritually, in socialising, and in my confidence. Thank you to all the leaders and parents for helping out with this camp. I love you all and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

2022 Term 1 Highlights!

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! In this post I will be sharing my highlights for this term. Term 1 has been a crazy and awesome term. People have been in isolation, we’ve met new people/friends, meet our new class for the year, had fun days, etc. This was a interesting start to 2022 but I’ve enjoyed it. Tomorrow is our last day of term 1.

Highlights: My first highlight was our fun days. We had lots fun days which I enjoyed and I’m grateful for. I had so much fun! We had a trip to Willow Park, Tonga Fundraiser, Little Hearts Day fundraiser, School Fun Day, and I think thats probably how much we had. I also went on a Youth Church Camp to Camp Tuhikaramea (very fun!). My other highlight was being called for Hine Moana house captain for 2022. I was so happy and proud of myself. I had so many other highlights but these are my top highlights.

Thank you to all the people including staff, teachers, family/friends, parents, siblings, aunties, uncles, etc for helping out and making this term a success.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Willow Park

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog!

Yesterday team 5 went to Willow Park. When we arrived at the camp site we got free time. I walked around the camp site, I played on the park and on the trampoline. We then had our morning tea and headed to the beach – had a swim. After that we had a lunch provided by Willow Park.

One of my highlights of the day was playing on the trampoline. I already have a trampoline at my house but it was still so fun. Lots of my friends would be on one trampoline, we would all fall and slip. It was so funny!

Something I would do next time is probably walk more and explore the area. It was a big and beautiful camp site with lots of thing/activities to do.

Something I was grateful for was the food they provided for us. The food was very yum and delicious. They gave us morning tea and lunch. Morning tea was a small savoury pastry. Lunch (what I had) was a sweet/brownie, hot dog, and potato with dressing. I enjoyed the lunch.

Our next fun day should be at Swim A Rama Lagoon Pools. I’ve been there before and I had so much fun with family and friends. There is this huge slide that is very dark and this fun rocket obstacle course.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
