Tech/Hard Materials – Last Session

Last week the year eights had their last tech rotation. My last rotation was hard materials. I really enjoyed the session and the product we were making. We were making a pendant or brooch. I chose turtle shape brooch. The process was quite tricky but I had to trust it. It looks very good and I’m proud of it. Thanks to my teacher Mr Grundy! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Tech/Hard Materials – Making the shape

Today for tech/hard materials we were choosing which design to cut out. I chose to cut out a turtle (which is my favourite animal). I had to trace it on a small square flat cardboard. Once I traced it i went to the machine and cut it out. I only did the body and a flipper. I enjoyed my second session and learnt something new. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Tech@Tamaki – Hard Materials

Today for tech we switched groups. Now we are in Hard Materials. This was my/our first time in hard materials because last year we were in lockdown. Our teacher is Mr Grundy. Our first session was pretty nice and I enjoyed it. We went over rules and what we were gonna do over our sessions. We are making pendants out of metal (last year we focused on wood). I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking – Short Bread Cookies

Yesterday for cooking class we made short bread cookies. I worked along with Angelica and Roman. The recipe was simple, butter, icing sugar, flour, (I think there was something else but I forgot) and then you mix. We mixed it until it was soft and made into dough. We then made them into different shapes and put them in the oven. They were very soft and sweet. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking – Minced with Rice and Veggies

Last week at food tech we made minced with rice and veggies.

We sliced and diced our veggies (onions, carrots, and cellary). We put our minced in the pan and cooked it. After some time we added our chopped veggies to the pan. We also boiled some rice and drained the water out (before that we made sure the rice was soft). We washed dishes and cleaned our kitchen. Finally we dished our plates. And ate our Minced with Rice and Veggies. I worked with Aye, again.

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking (and CTRL) – Smoothies

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! Today we had our first new rotation, cooking!

Our new teacher is Miss H. In cooking we made smoothies. We sliced and diced our apples, sliced our bananas, rinse our spinach, poured milk and yogurt, and then blended it!  I worked with Aye. At the end we washed our dishes and added whipped cream to the smoothie. Thank you Miss H!

Before the lesson started Mr Daniels came to give me my packet of jelly snakes. I came top of the CTRL class. Thank you Mr Daniels!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tech@Tamaki – CTRL/Last class

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! Last week Tuesday I had my last CTRL class. We’ve been learning during Covid 19/google meets and we met in person a couple weeks ago.

This lesson we’ve been using Tinkcard. We usually expand our drive and gmail. We do a little game where we do who emails Mr D first. I won on Tuesday (yay!). We also open our screen dump file and electric files. We looked at our object/simulation that we’ve been working on a couple of weeks ago. We coded a simulation to display the three primary colours. When we finished that we then coded it to display the secondary colours. I completed both tasks and had a lot of fun during CTRL. At the end of the lesson (and during the middle of the lesson) he gave us jelly snakes which were yum. Thank you Mr Daniels!

I enjoyed my CTRL class, on google meets and in person. I had quite a lot of fun and learnt new interesting things.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
