Korero – Give It A Go!

This week’s korero was “Give It A Go”. The prefects and house captains made a movie for the korero. I filmed some parts and edited the movie. We also had some help from other people and kids. I really liked the way the movie turned out and I’m quite proud of it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

HW WK2 – Literacy 6 Sentence Story

Task Description: This week’s homework included a literacy task. In this literacy task we had to create a six sentence story based on an image that was given to us. The image had two kids sitting on the edge/wing of the plane. Here is my story. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Writing: Siblings Lizzy and Luke were on vacation with their parents. This was a vacation trip for them, but for their mum it was a business trip. Their parents were quite wealthy so they paid first class for all of them. During the flight Lizzy and Luke were told to say put and don’t be disruptive. They did the complete opposite and snuck out of the plane. As they walked on the wing of the plane, a gust of wind blew them off.

Maths – Measuring Mass

Today for maths we learnt about measuring mass. We were put into five different rotation groups. My group consisted of Meliame, Jennifer, Chaun, Jacob, and myself. We measured different objects with water and with different scales. The first three pages were about our rotations and the last two were matching images with capacities/mass. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking – Short Bread Cookies

Yesterday for cooking class we made short bread cookies. I worked along with Angelica and Roman. The recipe was simple, butter, icing sugar, flour, (I think there was something else but I forgot) and then you mix. We mixed it until it was soft and made into dough. We then made them into different shapes and put them in the oven. They were very soft and sweet. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

KPMG Trip!

Today some of the year seven and eight students went on a trip to KPMG. When we got there, there were people who introduced themselves. After that we went on a tour around the building/office. My group consisted of Emeline, Kolotita, Nora, Jade, Kahziloyu, and one of our helpers Chris. Then we came back for morning tea (which was amazing!). Next we took some pictures with Jez who did photography and drew some artwork pieces. Soon we had our delicious lunch. Lastly we played with clay and made stop motion animations. This whole trip was based on our term’s theme, Art Works. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 3 – Art Works

Today was the first day of term three (welcome back!). We first had our immersion assembly and introduced our theme for the term, Art Works!

One of our two teachers and principal shared photography/drone, painting and a pallet, and a song based on Art. Next Team One’s item was about showing emotions in art. Team Two’s item was about drawing self portraits and learning about other artists. Team Three’s item was about art, acting, singing, etc. Team Four’s item was about different types of arts. Lastly, Team Five’s item was about acting and showing different emotions (in art).

My favourite act was Mr Somerville’s item. He showed his drone flying across the hall. It showed some kids laughing and having fun.

After this assembly we came back and talked about our class treaty and values. We also welcomed our lovely home class teacher, Mrs Stone! We then played fun teamwork activities.

Matariki Light Trail

On Saturday night, my family and I went to the Matariki Light Trail. It was a quick but entertaining walk. We saw many lights which were far but saw some that were close up. This was super fun and I enjoyed it (with my family). I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Saineha 1st Ward International Night

Yesterday Friday night my ward (Saineha 1st) had an International Night. Every quorum chose a country/continent to represent. Nursery did a pageant, Primary represented America, Youth represented Japan, YSA represented Mexico, Relief Society represented India, and Priesthood represented Africa.

Vaha and I were in the Youth item. The girls did a fan dance, the boys did a Kung Fu fighting, and we all did a tiktok dance. Catherine and Keni were in the primary item. They danced to the song Party in the USA. My Mum and cousin were in the Relief Society item (my Mum was in the Youth item and my cousin was in the YSA item). They did an Indian dance. My dad was in the African item (and Youth and Primary).

I enjoyed all of the quorum’s items and food. I also enjoyed dancing. I had SO MUCH FUN! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

2022 Term 2 Highlights!

Term 2 has been another crazy and awesome term! We’ve had sports, camp, fun activities, celebrations and much more. I’d like to thank everyone (teachers, parents, staff, and basically everyone) for helping out this term and making this term another successful term. I will share my highlights.

We have started netball at the start of the term. My team is the PES Warriors. We have been improving (which we are proud of) and are excited for our upcoming games. My tech classes have been very fun and educational. I’ve had CTRL in term one and cooking in term 2. I loved making lots of healthy delicious food. We’ve had our amazing Year 8 Leadership Camp which was such a good experience and so much fun. We’ve had our Matariki celebration and celebrated my lovely teacher Miss Hall’s time at PES. She will be on her new journey so have fun and good luck! Thank you!
