SLJ – Kick Start: My Summer Tiki Tour

This is one of the tasks for the SLJ last week. It was fun and probably my favourite one from last week. In this task we had to write different places we would like to visit or do visit during the holidays. My family and I don’t travel out of Auckland that much (only Hamilton) but it’s still very nice. I worked on this task with my younger sister Catherine. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

SLJ – Kick Start: Arts for Arts Sake

Today I chose the Arts for Arts Sake task from the Summer Learning Journey week two. I thought this would be very fun and interesting, indeed it was. For this task we had to create a silhouette with our family on it. Since I’ve made a silhouette it was pretty easy. This photo was from a couple of years ago. It was my family and I at the Hamilton Temple museum. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Year 8 Graduation 2022

Last week Monday we had our year 8 graduation for 2022. I was super excited and happy. When I arrived with my parents I greeted my friends and teachers. We next took photos infront of the photo place. Then we had a light supper and got started.

The prefects shared their speeches which was lovely. One or two students had to introduce their teacher. I did it with my classmate Aaron. My class was second to last. It was nice hearing speeches from students and teachers. It was also very, very, very nice seeing many year 8s dressed up nice and semi-formal. I loved that day so much and enjoyed it.

Thank you to parents, families, supporters, teachers, and year 8 students for attending and making it a wonderful night. I hope you have enjoyed this post.

Prizegiving 2022!

Today we had our school Prizegivings. I really enjoyed and loved my last senior prizegiving (which was in the afternoon). Many deserved people received great awards such as, class awards, PENN awards, sport awards, scholarships, and much more.

I received many awards but one of them was the ‘Takoha Pay It Forward’ award.  I was so very happy and super proud of myself. I wasn’t expecting to get it but I did. Thank you to those who have helped me this year!

Saineha 1st Primary Halloween Program

Last week Saturday, my ward (Saineha 1st) had a Halloween program for the Primary.

We went to the church hall and set up our station. We had balloons, webs, spiders, lanterns, something black aesthetic hanging from the ceiling, lollies, etc. Soon the children and their families started arriving. They played some teamwork/individual activities. Once they finished that they went around and trick or treated past stations. When every kid got a pack of lollies from us we gave them a game to play to win a pack of lollies of a bigger pack. The bishopric had a cake eating contest which was very entertaining and funny.

Hamilton Temple – Rededication

Yesterday Sunday (16.10.2022) there was a rededication for Hamilton New Zealand Temple. It was first built and was originally dedicated by David O Mckay (served as the 9th president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) in 20 April 1958, closed in July 2018 for renovation, and we had the open house through out August and September.

My family and I attended the 9am session. We heard a few talks from our general church leaders and then one from the quorum of the 12 apostles Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf who rededicated the temple. I enjoyed all the talks and the whole session. This was a first experience for me and I am truly grateful I got to witness it.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Tongan Language Week 2022

Last week was Tongan Language Week. The theme for this week/year was “Ke Tu’uloa ‘a e lea faka-Tonga’ ‘i Aotearoa”. That week was so packed with fun and exciting things (mostly to do with Tonga). On Friday we did our Tau’olunga and shared it with the school. The boys also shared their dance. I had so much fun that week and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Hamilton Temple – Open House

On Saturday my ward and I went to Hamilton to see the Open House. There is a (The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints) temple in Hamilton that has been closed for four years due to work and construction.

I was so excited to go because I haven’t been here in a long time. I was also excited to go on a tour and visit all the rooms. The Celestial and Baptism room were my favourite. The Celestial room gave me a glimpse of what heaven would be like and the Baptism room was where I could baptise the dead in a couple months time.

I really enjoyed that experience and can’t wait to do work for others and for some of my non-member family.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – TimeZone Arcade

Yesterday on Friday my whole family and I went to TimeZone arcade (after we went to the arcade, my dad, Vaha, and I went to a movie night Youth Stake activity). The arcade was huge and packed with many games and people. We played most of the games and won most of them. We also won a lot of tickets and bought some prizes (basketball, two stuffed dolls from Sing 2, water gun, boxing glove, etc). My favourite game was bumper cars, playing hoops, and photo booth. I’ve had a great happy holiday with my family and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – Gravity

On Thursday my mum, sibling, and I went to Gravity. It’s a trampoline park. The park was quite big and had a lot of activities and things to do. They gave us socks and these socks were pretty cool because they had grip whenever you would play or jump on something. We played master/shooting the ball in the hoop, Vaha and Keni played dodge ball, we all went on the Ninja Course, and jumped all over the place. I had a lot of fun spending time with my family. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
