Tongan Language Week 2022

Last week was Tongan Language Week. The theme for this week/year was “Ke Tu’uloa ‘a e lea faka-Tonga’ ‘i Aotearoa”. That week was so packed with fun and exciting things (mostly to do with Tonga). On Friday we did our Tau’olunga and shared it with the school. The boys also shared their dance. I had so much fun that week and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Hamilton Temple – Open House

On Saturday my ward and I went to Hamilton to see the Open House. There is a (The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints) temple in Hamilton that has been closed for four years due to work and construction.

I was so excited to go because I haven’t been here in a long time. I was also excited to go on a tour and visit all the rooms. The Celestial and Baptism room were my favourite. The Celestial room gave me a glimpse of what heaven would be like and the Baptism room was where I could baptise the dead in a couple months time.

I really enjoyed that experience and can’t wait to do work for others and for some of my non-member family.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – TimeZone Arcade

Yesterday on Friday my whole family and I went to TimeZone arcade (after we went to the arcade, my dad, Vaha, and I went to a movie night Youth Stake activity). The arcade was huge and packed with many games and people. We played most of the games and won most of them. We also won a lot of tickets and bought some prizes (basketball, two stuffed dolls from Sing 2, water gun, boxing glove, etc). My favourite game was bumper cars, playing hoops, and photo booth. I’ve had a great happy holiday with my family and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – Gravity

On Thursday my mum, sibling, and I went to Gravity. It’s a trampoline park. The park was quite big and had a lot of activities and things to do. They gave us socks and these socks were pretty cool because they had grip whenever you would play or jump on something. We played master/shooting the ball in the hoop, Vaha and Keni played dodge ball, we all went on the Ninja Course, and jumped all over the place. I had a lot of fun spending time with my family. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Matariki Light Trail

On Saturday night, my family and I went to the Matariki Light Trail. It was a quick but entertaining walk. We saw many lights which were far but saw some that were close up. This was super fun and I enjoyed it (with my family). I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Saineha 1st Ward International Night

Yesterday Friday night my ward (Saineha 1st) had an International Night. Every quorum chose a country/continent to represent. Nursery did a pageant, Primary represented America, Youth represented Japan, YSA represented Mexico, Relief Society represented India, and Priesthood represented Africa.

Vaha and I were in the Youth item. The girls did a fan dance, the boys did a Kung Fu fighting, and we all did a tiktok dance. Catherine and Keni were in the primary item. They danced to the song Party in the USA. My Mum and cousin were in the Relief Society item (my Mum was in the Youth item and my cousin was in the YSA item). They did an Indian dance. My dad was in the African item (and Youth and Primary).

I enjoyed all of the quorum’s items and food. I also enjoyed dancing. I had SO MUCH FUN! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Happy Mothers Day!

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! As you all know, yesterday was Mothers Day. I’d like to say “Happy Mothers Day!” to all the mums out there.

On Sunday (yesterday) we went to church and it was also mothers day. Towards the end of the sacrament the mothers stood and sang together. In class we made goodie bags for our mums. I made a card and goodie bag for my mum. After church we took photos and had a good feed at our own homes.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Panmure Stake Youth Activity Day

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! During the holidays my favourite thing I did was attend the Panmure Stake Youth Activity Day. I had so much fun and enjoyed it. I will share my highlights/short recount.

Highlight One – New Friends, I made a whole lot of new friends (on Saturday and Sunday. Sunday photos will come soon). Everyone was so friendly and wanted to be friends. I met a few from primary and now are in youth. Others from netball games or just see them at church.

Highlight Two – Trust In The Lord T-Shirts, we received shirts that had the words “trust in the lord” and other words. I was so happy and loved the shirt. Some of us wore white shirts the others wore yellow shirts. We played all the activities and games in our shirts.  (Last week Friday – Sunday was for Panmure Stake Youth, Trust In The Lord which is the theme for this year).

Highlight Three – Activities & Games, I enjoyed all activities and games. We first did a fun warm up which was a zumba. You know that game where you throw a dart at the middle, yeah? We played that but it was huge and we had to kick a ball instead. We next went to the Big Epic Dry Slide. It was a big slide that was dry and you just slide down it. Our next activity was a wet one! We were attached to harness and had to run forward and touch the end. I slipped and the harness yanked be back, haha! I sadly loss but it was still so fun! We moved onto rock climbing wall. I was quite nervous about this one but I’ve done things similar to it. I put on a harness and climbed until and hit the red buzzer. Our second to last activity was a water obstacle course. My ward (Saineha 1st) was taking care of the activity. I ran into the small whole and jumped over some courses. I then slide down the slide and landed a pool of water. I won that game, yes! Our last activity was this a quiet group game. Things didn’t quiet work out (another group was still there). This was FUN!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Camp Tuhikaramea! Youth Ward Camp

Hello, welcome back to my blog/welcome to my blog! 2 weeks ago on Friday I went on a camp to Hamilton, Camp Tuhikaramea. This was a youth ward camp. I went with my family, ward youth, and some ward members. My family were the first to get there so we got our cabin – the cabin was surprisingly big! The point of this camp was for us to be strength both physically and spiritually. Also to help us in our confidence.

Here are some of my highlights – 1: My first highlight was the pacific museum/temple. I really enjoyed visiting the temple and museum. We looked through the museum and saw a lot of cool things. I saw this painting with Jesus Christ in the islands, playing with the children. I also saw my grandpa and great uncle in one of the portraits. They were missionary volunteers and construction workers building temples and churches. We also went to the temple. I was so happy, joyful, and calm when I finally saw the temple (again) in person. It was a beautiful view and experience.

Highlight 2: My cabin was awesome! I was with Lose, Emeline, Bubba, Roseline, Ana, and Temalisi. There were 3 rooms, 2 bunks in 1 room, 2 bunks in the other room, and 2 single beds in the middle room. Lose, Emeline, Temaisi, and we were in on room which the 2 bunks. On our first night we shared creepy stories that really scared me (but not to scared). We ate late night snacks and talked. We had to be in our cabins by 10pm but we could still talk and have fun! The other cabin with the other girls have their own disco and it was quite loud (haha!).

Highlight 3: I would never forget the slide. We first had our activities/relays. We then walked over to the slide. I thought this slide was the ones we have a school but this slide was far from the ones we have at school. It was so big and long. I had to fun down hill to see the end of the hill. I was so excited and nervous. They got the hose and soap ready. I went down so fast and my mum was yelling “TURN TO YOUR SIDE!” which makes you go slower. When I reached the end I was trying to stand up but I fell over and then someone came sliding down super fast and hit me. I got hit like 3 times. My little sister and my friends Melemanu and Emeline went flying out of the slide (HAHA!). My 2 other brothers and mum went too. Sometimes I went with all my friends at once. This slide was scary, fun, and I also got lots of bruises but I think it was worth it.

Highlight 4: My first ever bonfire. I brought my big blanket and shared it with Lisi. To be honest the fire was already making me feel warm, even without my blanket. We all went around in a circle with the boys, girls, and parents/leaders. We shared what we have enjoyed so far from camp. After that we toasted our marshmallows in the fire and ate them with biscuits.

Highlight: Team Blues Clues in the house! I was in Team Blue. My leader was Nane and Kefi. We made our banner which turned out really cool and beautiful. After that we started making our chants. It was so fun and it was a good way to make better bonds with new people.

Highlight 5: I was well fed everyday. Thank you to the chefs for making our food! We had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks! Sometimes I thought that was the end of our eating time but no, there was more food. My favourite food was that bacon and eggs, pizza, and Doritos with sour cream. There were heaps of snacks in my family’s cabin so I would always so in there to take some food.

Highlight 6: I enjoyed the free time. Whenever we finished eating our meals or an activity we would just go back to our cabins and do whatever we want (but be wise). We had some neighbours and the other side on the camp (because of camp was Camp Nephi). On our first night we stayed in our cabins but the 2nd night was fantastic! We finished our bonfire and returned to our cabins. Everyone was playing Spotlight and Man Hunt. Some of the girls dances and played loud catchy music. I talked with Lisi and Winnie. This free time actually felt like fun free time.

Highlight 7: Pyjamas Disco Night. On our first day we had a disco party and the theme was Pyjamas. We did general dancing. All the girls danced on one side or the pavilion and the boys danced on the other side. Some people were dancing and some people were frozen. Since we needed to boost our confidence and start dancing we had to stand in a huge circle with the boys and girls. This made us move and dance a little bit more. Soon we did a dance which is called the March. This was so fun to do!

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog. (The photos are quite blurry, had a problem with uploading).
