Last week Thursday, PES had our first netball prize giving in two years. This was my sister and I, first netball prize giving. We first had an afternoon tea that I really enjoyed. next some netball teams were called up to get their awards and share their team cheer. My sister’s team went up (year 4 Gems). She got MVP and I was proud of her. Soon my team was called up, second to last (year 8 Warriors). I got MVP fro my team. I was very grateful and proud of myself. All netballers got goodies bags. This term for Extension we have been focusing on Photopea and cultural art. Photopea is an online photo editing software where you can edit photos and draw different art pieces. I chose to do France and draw the many unique things about France. I really enjoyed drawing this and using photopea. I also enjoyed learning new facts based around France. The second photo below is my research about France and what my art might look like. We are displaying our art at our school art expo. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Last week Friday our school had our Cross Country run (last year we didn’t have won). We got dressed in our house colours Hikianalia (yellow), Hokulea (green), Te Aurere (red), and Hinemoana (blue). I’m the house captain for the blue house. The house captains shared their chants which we all enjoyed doing. After that we went in random order of age groups to start the run. Last week was Tongan Language Week. The theme for this week/year was “Ke Tu’uloa ‘a e lea faka-Tonga’ ‘i Aotearoa”. That week was so packed with fun and exciting things (mostly to do with Tonga). On Friday we did our Tau’olunga and shared it with the school. The boys also shared their dance. I had so much fun that week and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Last week’s Tuesday was the last netball game for the season. It was my team and my last time playing for Pt England. My team consisted of Fifita, Mele, Melemanu, Lesiali, Mariko, Paula, Jayla, and myself. Our team was called the “Warriors”. I’ve really enjoyed my time playing for PES and especially with my own team. We’ve won some and lost some, but overall we did a great job. I’m also grateful for my coach, managers, and family/supporters. We came 5th in a grade which is a cool result. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
For this week’s homework (literacy section) we had to recreate a well know brands advertisement. We also had to include a text or phrase that would persuade people to buy the brand. Today was the first day of term three (welcome back!). We first had our immersion assembly and introduced our theme for the term, Art Works!
One of our two teachers and principal shared photography/drone, painting and a pallet, and a song based on Art. Next Team One’s item was about showing emotions in art. Team Two’s item was about drawing self portraits and learning about other artists. Team Three’s item was about art, acting, singing, etc. Team Four’s item was about different types of arts. Lastly, Team Five’s item was about acting and showing different emotions (in art).
My favourite act was Mr Somerville’s item. He showed his drone flying across the hall. It showed some kids laughing and having fun.
After this assembly we came back and talked about our class treaty and values. We also welcomed our lovely home class teacher, Mrs Stone! We then played fun teamwork activities.
