Literacy – Commonwealth Games

Today’s literacy (home class) task was based on the Commonwealth games. It is a multi-sport event that happens every four years. We read and answered questions about the Commonwealth games. Kiarah and I made an add for the Commonwealth game. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Korero – Give It A Go!

This week’s korero was “Give It A Go”. The prefects and house captains made a movie for the korero. I filmed some parts and edited the movie. We also had some help from other people and kids. I really liked the way the movie turned out and I’m quite proud of it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Literacy – Fortnite Debate

Yesterday for literacy we did a debate but we got to choose which one we wanted to do. I chose fortnite, should fortnite be banned? Here is my writing/reasons why fortnite should be banned. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

  • Fortnite is an additive online game. Kids are addicted and play for many hours. They should do something more productive and focus on something else.
  • Gaming/Fortnite can cause mental health issues, ADHD, social anxiety, gaming disorder and depression. They should be talking and playing with friends outside in real life instead of talking and playing with strangers online.
  • It can be dangerous talking with strangers online, especially for children under the age of 12. Kids will be exposed to inappropriate language and things (like images, videos, etc).
  • Fortnite is gabling in a certain way. Kids use their parent’s credit cards to buy things. To conclude this, these are my reasons why Fortnite should be banned and why kids under the age of 12 shouldn’t be allowed to play.

Extension – Colour Wheel Vocabulary

This week for extension we worked on colour wheels, definitions, and vocab. One of our first tasks was to find out the definitions of certain words and find the examples/colours of it. This was fun, interesting, and educational to do. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Literacy – Persuasive Advertisement

Yesterday for literacy we made a start on persuasive writing. Before we did that we made adds that would persuade people to buy it. We could choose any item and made an add out of it. I chose a hand sanitizer. I will share my short piece of writing later in the week. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

HW WK2 – Literacy 6 Sentence Story

Task Description: This week’s homework included a literacy task. In this literacy task we had to create a six sentence story based on an image that was given to us. The image had two kids sitting on the edge/wing of the plane. Here is my story. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Writing: Siblings Lizzy and Luke were on vacation with their parents. This was a vacation trip for them, but for their mum it was a business trip. Their parents were quite wealthy so they paid first class for all of them. During the flight Lizzy and Luke were told to say put and don’t be disruptive. They did the complete opposite and snuck out of the plane. As they walked on the wing of the plane, a gust of wind blew them off.

Maths – Measuring Mass

Today for maths we learnt about measuring mass. We were put into five different rotation groups. My group consisted of Meliame, Jennifer, Chaun, Jacob, and myself. We measured different objects with water and with different scales. The first three pages were about our rotations and the last two were matching images with capacities/mass. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
