Literacy – Descriptive Writing Sour Lolly

Task Description: Today for literacy we did a fun taste test game. We were partners and my one was Angelica. We were given local deliquesces that our teacher said was yum but it was sour and yuck. This was fun. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Writing: As it dropped in my hand, the texture of the thing was strange. The thing was a ball, a sphere. It was hard and crumbs on the outside of it. It smelt like a granola bar but mostly like nothing. Once the ball touched my mouth I felt something tingly and it felt very weird. It was so sour and tingly. At the same time it was crazy sweet. I bit on it straight away and it cracked easily. Once it cracked in my mouth I felt an explosion of sourness.

HW WK1 – Literacy 6 Sentence Story

Task Description: This week’s homework included a literacy task. In this literacy task we had to create a six sentence story based on an image that was given to us. Here is my story. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Writing: It was a cold eerie night, the town was a ghost town. No one to be heard or seen except for the old man sobbing in the seat. He was holding a small single rose in his hands. He thought that this one, small, and single rose would clear up the small in his house. Only to find out that his house was wiped away by the storm. In a strange and scary time like this, where would he go now?

Tech@Tamaki/Cooking – Short Bread Cookies

Yesterday for cooking class we made short bread cookies. I worked along with Angelica and Roman. The recipe was simple, butter, icing sugar, flour, (I think there was something else but I forgot) and then you mix. We mixed it until it was soft and made into dough. We then made them into different shapes and put them in the oven. They were very soft and sweet. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

KPMG Trip!

Today some of the year seven and eight students went on a trip to KPMG. When we got there, there were people who introduced themselves. After that we went on a tour around the building/office. My group consisted of Emeline, Kolotita, Nora, Jade, Kahziloyu, and one of our helpers Chris. Then we came back for morning tea (which was amazing!). Next we took some pictures with Jez who did photography and drew some artwork pieces. Soon we had our delicious lunch. Lastly we played with clay and made stop motion animations. This whole trip was based on our term’s theme, Art Works. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 3 – Art Works

Today was the first day of term three (welcome back!). We first had our immersion assembly and introduced our theme for the term, Art Works!

One of our two teachers and principal shared photography/drone, painting and a pallet, and a song based on Art. Next Team One’s item was about showing emotions in art. Team Two’s item was about drawing self portraits and learning about other artists. Team Three’s item was about art, acting, singing, etc. Team Four’s item was about different types of arts. Lastly, Team Five’s item was about acting and showing different emotions (in art).

My favourite act was Mr Somerville’s item. He showed his drone flying across the hall. It showed some kids laughing and having fun.

After this assembly we came back and talked about our class treaty and values. We also welcomed our lovely home class teacher, Mrs Stone! We then played fun teamwork activities.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – TimeZone Arcade

Yesterday on Friday my whole family and I went to TimeZone arcade (after we went to the arcade, my dad, Vaha, and I went to a movie night Youth Stake activity). The arcade was huge and packed with many games and people. We played most of the games and won most of them. We also won a lot of tickets and bought some prizes (basketball, two stuffed dolls from Sing 2, water gun, boxing glove, etc). My favourite game was bumper cars, playing hoops, and photo booth. I’ve had a great happy holiday with my family and really enjoyed it. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Term 2 Holidays – Gravity

On Thursday my mum, sibling, and I went to Gravity. It’s a trampoline park. The park was quite big and had a lot of activities and things to do. They gave us socks and these socks were pretty cool because they had grip whenever you would play or jump on something. We played master/shooting the ball in the hoop, Vaha and Keni played dodge ball, we all went on the Ninja Course, and jumped all over the place. I had a lot of fun spending time with my family. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Matariki Light Trail

On Saturday night, my family and I went to the Matariki Light Trail. It was a quick but entertaining walk. We saw many lights which were far but saw some that were close up. This was super fun and I enjoyed it (with my family). I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.

Saineha 1st Ward International Night

Yesterday Friday night my ward (Saineha 1st) had an International Night. Every quorum chose a country/continent to represent. Nursery did a pageant, Primary represented America, Youth represented Japan, YSA represented Mexico, Relief Society represented India, and Priesthood represented Africa.

Vaha and I were in the Youth item. The girls did a fan dance, the boys did a Kung Fu fighting, and we all did a tiktok dance. Catherine and Keni were in the primary item. They danced to the song Party in the USA. My Mum and cousin were in the Relief Society item (my Mum was in the Youth item and my cousin was in the YSA item). They did an Indian dance. My dad was in the African item (and Youth and Primary).

I enjoyed all of the quorum’s items and food. I also enjoyed dancing. I had SO MUCH FUN! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please leave a positive comment on my blog.
